Bastille Day & Learning 2.0 (#1, #3, & #4)

On July 14, 1789, a mob in France stormed the Bastille, which was originally a medieval fortress that came to be used as a state prison. The taking of the Bastille signaled the beginning of the French Revolution, and thus became a symbol of the end of the ancien régime.

What does this have to do with the BSC Library's Learning 2.0 project?

It's a bit of a stretch, but .... I think the launch of this project at the BSC Library on July 14, 2008, can be compared to the taking of the Bastille. We are taking steps to leave our old ways of doing things and beginning to embrace Web 2.0 tools and technologies.

Vive le Web 2.0!
